Junior Service Member Of the Year 2012
For professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties while serving as Field Medical Training Instructor at Field Medical Training Battalion-East from January 2012 to December 2012. Petty Officer Conant efficiently and effectively trained 411 hospital corpsmen, religious program specialists and foreign military students resulting in his platoons having a cumulative grade point average of 94%, the highest of all four platoons. His students consistently won academic and physical achievement awards, which included four, honor graduates, four top dogs, and three super doc awards. He organized a 5-day student evaluation and testing evolution for 301 students leading to a more comprehensive casualty assessment training process. Additionally, he assisted in 34 other training evolutions in support of the command mission. His extraordinary contributions to the command led to his selection as the Field Medical Training Battalion-East junior service member of the year, calendar year 2012. Petty Officer Conant’s exceptional professionalism, personal initiative, and loyal devotion to duty reflected great credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
