Sergeant Major Bell was born 1976 in Boulder, Nevada and graduated High School at Manual,
located in Denver, Colorado. In 1995 he enlisted in the Marine Corps and reported to boot camp at MCRD, San Diego. In 1995 he transferred to Marine Combat Training, Camp Pendleton, California. Upon completion he was reassigned to Assault Amphibian Schools Battalion where he obtained the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of Assault Amphibious Crewman or 1833. Upon completion of the school he was assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion Fox Company where he deployed to Okinawa serving as a crew chief and was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In 1998 he re-enlisted to serve as an MOS instructor at Assault Amphibious Schools Battalion and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 2001 he was reassigned 3rd
Assault Amphibian Battalion, Echo Company where he deployed in support of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit attached to Third Battalion 1st Marines and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. When his unit returned, they were reattached to 2nd Battalion 5th Marines where he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and in 2003 after returning from OIF he was transferred to Charlie Company 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion and deployed to Okinawa as a Section Leader. In 2005 he re-enlisted and reported to MCRD Parris Island to Drill instructor school as a student and obtained the MOS of 8511 Drill Instructor and was selected to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He reported to 3rd Recruit
Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Series Gunnery Sergeant. He was then selected to go to Drill Instructor School as an instructor. Upon completion his time at DI School he was sent back to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served as Company 1stSgt for Quebec Company and was
selected to the rank of 1stSgt. In 2009 1stSgt Bell received orders to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines where he served as India and Weapons Company 1stSgt. He deployed in 2009 to Operation Enduring Freedom in support of operation Moshtarak and then again in 2010 to the same location. In 2012, he received orders to School of Infantry where
he served as a company 1stSgt with Echo Company Infantry Training Battalion and Headquarters and Instructor group. Selected to his current rank he is presently the Battalion Sergeant Major for Infantry Training Battalion.
