Parris Island Marine awarded Bronze Star

Gunnery Sgt. Kevin D. Spivey, S-3 chief, Support Battalion, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in a ceremony Tuesday. The award, presented to him by Lt. Col. Laura Little, commanding officer, Support Bn., was given to him for his actions while deployed with the Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq from April 17, 2005, to April 27, 2006.

Battle Colors display its finest precision

The Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, Silent Drill Platoon and the Marine Corps Color Guard made their annual visit to the Depot Oct. 18. The Battle Colors Ceremony began with the Drum and Bugle Corps' musical mixture of patriotic tunes. New SMP hang out opens at Brig-n-Brew

Through Marine Corps Community Services-South Carolina, and with the help of EMBARQ, the Single Marine and Sailor Program opened their new Liberty Center inside the Brig and Brew Oct. 18 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new Liberty Center allows Marines and sailors to enjoy their liberty hours with free Internet access, movies and video games.
