Petty Officer 3rd Class Stephanie Besco, hospital corpsman, Branch Medical Clinic, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, examines a recruit’s ear during sick call. Sick call is an opportunity for recruits to seek medical attention for an illness or injury while going through recruit training. During recruit training, many recruits get seen for a variety of illnesses from the common cold to pneumonia.
