Recruits Matthew L. Earier and Jonathon R. George, Platoon 3250, carry a 40mm ammunition can during the night re-supply hike July 10 at Edson Range, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif. The four-mile hike was part of the Crucible, a 54-hour training event in which recruits hike 40 miles and stop at different stations to conduct team exercises.
