Recruit Robert Streety, Platoon 3233, yells for his fire team as he finishes low-crawling the second high barbed-wire obstacle of Copland’s Fire Team Assault Course during the Crucible at Edson Range, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aug. 24. The course represents recruits counterattacking an enemy position after their Armored Personnel Carriers are ambushed and is supposed to help recruits communicate more effectively and increase their mental toughness.
