A Marine color guard stands at parade rest before marching on the colors for the morning colors ceremony Oct. 7. This color guard is comprised of drill instructors from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. They carry the national ensign and the battle standard of the Marine Corps out to the ceremony while the national anthem is played.
