Petty Officer 2nd Class Jaime Garcia, hospital corpsmen, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Medical, helps unload bricks from a truck by grabing the first brick to pass down an assembly line at Taft Middle School Feb. 4. Military members from MCRD volunteered their weekend to help build a garden learning environment for the school. The project is a part of this year's Legacy Project, a community based project that involves schools that the American Society of Landscape Architects commits to providing active learning environments for the students.
