FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo.  – This year’s 11th Annual Marine Mess Volkslauf 10k Fun Run catered to its largest crowd of runners, hosting approximately 850 runners clutching the challenge, June 19, 2010. The crowd of thrilled fun seekers blew out the previous record by 100 people.

The Marine Corps Detachment utilizes this event to raise money for their annual Marine Corps Ball, in November. Categories for the event were based on uniform for five-person teams and individuals.

First place winners are as follows; Female military uniform went to the Bandits, #50 with a time of 1:18:12.

509th Route Clearance, #19 took Male Military Uniform in 1:00:51.

Bring the Thunder, #63 were the top performers for Mixed Military Uniform with their time of 1:03:29.

Youth Team Waynesville JROTC Raiders, #97 ran an amazing 1:03:41.

Terra, #114 holds first place for Male Non-military Uniform running it in 58:53.

ChemGals, #134 broke through the course for Female Non-military Uniform in 57:34.

In the Mixed Non-military Uniform category, Security Bank, #168 rushed to the finish line in 53:18.

Male Individual Thomas Miginnis, #376 topped the run in 48:52.

Female Individual Jacqueline Chen, #404 punished the turf in 51:04.


Marine Corps Training and Education Command
