25-Mar-11 -- Twenty four motivated Marines graduated from the Basic Instructor Course, Mobile Training Team (MTT), Class 8-11, at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri on 25 March 2011. The Basic Instructor Course, sponsored and delivered by the Train the Trainer School, is the bedrock for all Formal School Instructor training. The uniqueness of this particular MTT though, is the fact that it is week one of a three week pilot course being conducted by Marine Corps Detachment, Ft Leonard Wood. Commanding Officer, Col Nancy Springer, stated “Our instructors are the foundation of all our schools. I believe we need to train them well in order to set them up for success. They are training the future of our Corps.”
The pilot course has been named “The Ft Leonard Wood Instructor Academy” and it includes this one week Basic Instructor Course, a weeklong MTT version of the Senior Instructor Course, and one week of training specific to Ft Leonard Wood. A special thanks to the Train the Trainer School and the instructors MSgt Squires, GySgt Vattimo, Mr. Samuels, and Mr. Wheland, for a professional MTT. Congratulations to Class 8-11!
