Master Sergeant Michael J. Leon Guerrero

Master Sergeant Michael J. Leon Guerrero enlisted in the Marine Corps on 18 October 1999 at Ewa Beach, HI and completed Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego, CA on 5 January 2000. Master Sergeant Leon Guerrero has served in a variety of units and billets throughout his career.

Upon graduation from boot camp, Private First Class Leon Guerrero reported to Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA. In March 2000, he reported to Personnel Administration School at Camp Johnson, NC where he attained the MOS of 0121/Unit Diary Clerk.

In May 2000, Private First Class Leon Guerrero reported to his first duty station at 3d Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, JA. During this period, he was assigned to the Installation Personnel Administration Center and served as a Customer Service clerk, Service Record Book clerk, and Awards Clerk. He was promoted to Lance Corporal on 1 July 2000. In December 2000, Lance Corporal Leon Guerrero attended Jungle Warfare Training Course at Camp Gonsalvez, Okinawa, JA. In 2001 he then went on a Unit Deployment Exercise in support of Tandum Thrust, Shoal Water Bay, Australia. He was promoted to Corporal on 1 March 2002.

In May 2002, Corporal Leon Guerrero reported to Headquarters & Service Battalion, MARFORPAC, Hawaii as the Classified Materials Control Officer from May 2002-January 2003, He attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor school in 2003. Corporal Leon Guerrero supported Exercise Ultra Focus Lens Pohang, Korea. In March 2003, he changed billets as the Separations NCO. On 1 August 2003, Corporal Leon Guerrero was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In August 2003, he attended Air Borne School at Fort Benning, GA.

In January 2004, Sergeant Leon Guerrero reported to Manpower Information Support Office -6, (MISS-6) Kaneohe, Marine Corps Base Hawaii as a Systems Analyst. In August 2004, he earned his Associates Degree from Hawaii Pacific University in Supervisory & Leadership. In January 2007, Sergeant Leon Guerrero deployed to Iraq as an Individual Augmentee attached with MISSO-11, II Marine Expeditionary Force. In March 2007, Sergeant Leon Guerrero was promoted to Staff Sergeant. In January 2008, he received orders to Recruiters School and graduated in March 2008. He was assigned as a canvassing Recruiter on the island of Guam from March 2008-January 2011. During this time, he was meritoriously promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

In January 2011, Gunnery Sergeant Leon Guerrero reported to Instructor & Inspector duty, Minneapolis, Minnesota as the Administrative Chief. In May 2011, he attended the Advance Course out of Quantico, Virginia. In May 2012 he attended the Advance Administrative School. In August 2013, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Management and Technology, Arlington, Virginia in Criminal Justice.

In May 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Leon Guerrero reported to III Marine Expeditionary Force, Headquarters Group, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan as the Administrative Specialist which he had multiple collateral duties as Exceptional Family Member Coordinator, Educational Officer, and the Victim’s Witness Assistance Program Officer. In February 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Leon Guerrero participated in exercise Key Resolve, Camp Mujuk, Korea. In January 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Leon Guerrero was promoted to Master Sergeant. In February 2017, Master Sergeant Leon Guerrero executed TAD orders to the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. In May 2017, Master Sergeant Leon Guerrero and his family executed Permanent Change of Station Orders.

In May 2017, Master Sergeant Leon Guerrero reported to Training & Education Command, Quantico, Virginia where he is currently serving as the Equal Opportunity Advisor.
