Executive Deputy, Training and Education Command
SES Anthony J. Greco Jr.

Mr. Greco currently serves as the Executive Deputy of the Training & Education Command, located in Quantico, VA. As such, his responsibilities include advising the Commanding General on all matters pertaining to the civilian workforce, acting as the continuity on all Training & Education Command initiatives, and providing strategic leadership and supervision to ensure efficient management of resources in order to optimize the myriad of training and education activities of the command.

Mr. Greco was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in June 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Greco was the first Deputy Director of the newly formed Current Operations Division of the Capabilities Development Directorate, Headquarters Marine Corps, Combat Development & Integration, assimilating the functions of the former Advocacy, Transition, Fiscal and Personnel Division (of which he was the Director for five years) and supervising all fiscal and warfighting investment (to include transition activities from planning to programming), requirements transition, and personnel and administrative functions retained from the former Advocacy, Transition, Fiscal and Personnel Division to effectively and efficiently support the Director, Capabilities Development Directorate and the Deputy Commandant for Combat Development & Integration. During his time in the Capabilities Development Directorate, he also served as the Director of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Command and Control Transition Task Force responsible for planning and executing all combat development actions involving the development of Marine Air Ground Task Force Command and Control capabilities, and the integration of those capabilities across other elements of the Marine Corps to include Headquarters Marine Corps, the Operating Forces, and Marine Corps Systems Command.

Mr. Greco began his active service in the Marine Corps in 1985 as an infantry officer, serving in 1st Battalion, 7th Marines and 3d Battalion, 7th Marines, and was later designated as a Naval Aviator in 1989 with flying tours in Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 264, Training Squadron Two, and Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265. During his career, he served in all three Marine Expeditionary Forces deploying in the Unit Deployment Program and with the 24th, 26th and 31st Marine Expeditionary Units participating in Operations Provide Comfort (Turkey and Northern Iraq) and Desert Storm (Northern Iraq), Deny Flight and Provide Promise (former Yugoslavia), Desert Fox (Persian Gulf), and Stabilize (East Timor). He retired from the Aviation Department where he was the Head of Plans & Programs in 2005.

Mr. Greco holds a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester and a Masters of Military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College where he was a 2001 distinguished graduate. He is also a certified Program Management Professional.
