Sergeant Major, Training and Education Command
Sergeant Major Justin D. LeHew

Sergeant Major LeHew assumed his current post as the Sergeant Major, Training and Education Command on 29 August, 2013. A native of Columbus Grove, Ohio he attended recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina in July, 1988.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Major LeHew has been assigned numerous duties to include: Assault Amphibian Crewman, Crew Chief, Mechanic, Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant and Operations Chief; Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Academics Instructor.  Upon selection to First Sergeant, he served in the Infantry and Reconnaissance fields with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines and 1st Reconnaissance Battalion.  As a Sergeant Major, he has served with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, Assault Amphibian Schools Battalion and the 3rd Marine Regiment.

Sergeant Major LeHew has participated in combat operations during Operation Desert Storm with the Second Marine Division, Operation Provide Promise and Deny Flight in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Operation Iraqi Freedom with Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and 1st Reconnaissance Battalion.  Sergeant Major LeHew has also deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa Japan as well as UNITAS XXXI throughout South America.
