A native of Elizabethtown Kentucky, Mr. James Hilton joined the Marine Corps in 1987 and subsequently retired after serving 20 years of service on active duty. James is the Education Community of Interest Manager for the United States Marine Corps with responsibility for fostering the organization, professional growth, and success of the 1700 Occupational Group and Family. He also serves as an Action Officer, at the Department of Navy level, to facilitate, coordinate, and leverage Component, Community and Inter-Agency best practices. Prior to joining the Education & Training Community of Interest, James spent more than 12 years lending his expertise in and around the fields of education and training for the Marine Corps’ premier Communications School and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) with a focus toward Institutional Research and Effectiveness and in training and human systems integration across a variety of communications platforms in support of Marine Corps Systems Command and Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC). As such, Mr. Hilton embraces the training constructs, processes and procedures fundamental to the success of implementing the concepts of training and education through a continuous quality improvement of our programs of instruction and systems engineering.
