Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer (ISMT)
Description
The ISMT focuses on small arms marksmanship, weapons familiarization and employment fundamentals, firing table practice, and supports call-for-fire and fire direction center training. The ISMT is an interactive audio/visual weapons simulator that provides basic and enhanced marksmanship training, weapons employment training, and tactical decision making for a variety of small arms and crew served weapons.
Operational Impact:
- Marines train with the ISMT from entry level at MCRD through operational units within the Fleet Marine Forces and Marine Forces Reserve.
Benefits of Training:
- Includes Basic Marksmanship Fundamentals Tables 1-3 which is heavily used at Recruit Depots, School of Infantry, and Marksmanship Training Units.
Capabilities
- Provides training systems that supports 32 Infantry Training and Readiness Manual NAVMC 3500.44D events, which include basic marksmanship fundamentals, engagement skills, crew-served weapon skills, fire direction center and call for fire training, and decision making scenarios (e.g. shoot-no-shoot)
