The Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer (ISMT) focuses on small arms marksmanship, weapons familiarization and employment fundamentals, firing table practice, and supports call-for-fire and fire direction center training. The ISMT is an interactive audio/visual weapons simulator that provides basic and enhanced marksmanship training, weapons employment training, and tactical decision making for a variety of small arms and crew served weapons.

Marines train with the ISMT from entry level at MCRD through operational units within the Fleet Marine Forces and Marine Forces Reserve.

Includes Basic Marksmanship Fundamentals Tables 1-3 which is heavily used at Recruit Depots, School of Infantry, and Marksmanship Training Units.

Provides training systems that supports 32 Infantry Training and Readiness Manual NAVMC 3500.44D events, which include basic marksmanship fundamentals, engagement skills, crew-served weapon skills, fire direction center and call for fire training, and decision making scenarios (e.g. shoot-no-shoot).
