The Supporting Arms Virtual Trainer (SAVT) shall advance the training capability, operational readiness, and tactical proficiency of Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTACs), Joint Forward Observers (JFOs), and Forward Air Controllers (FACs). The personnel shall use training scenarios that require the placement of tactical ordnance on selected targets using Joint Close Air Support (JCAS) procedures and observed fire procedures for Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS), Artillery and Mortar fire to perform destruction, neutralization, suppression, illumination / coordinated illumination, interdiction, and harassment fire missions.

LVC-TE will expand interoperability across the Marine Corps and its Joint Interagency Intergovernmental Multinational (JIIM) partners.

Supports standards based training exercises across the FMF

LVC-TE will enable federation of exercises, training, and Programs of Instruction (POI) at geographically separated United States Marine Corps installations
Allows Instructor/Operators to customize training scenarios, change terrain and change simulated weather conditions
Ability to rehearse convoy training, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in TTPs against adaptive enemies and changing conditions.
Ability to train call for fire (CFF), counter-IED drills, mounted patrols, logistics support, high target extractions, casualty evacuation. and rules of engagement (ROE).
Ability to he operated separately or when linked together for larger convoy exercises.
Individual and FiST Supporting Arms Training.

Familiarization with the different fire support equipment.
Company Level Fire Support Teams (FiST).
Effective training venue for refresher training for those Marines who are rusty on their call for fire skills or for supporting team building and effectiveness of the FiST. SAVT training also works well when combined with the CAN.
